Another month rolls in and as we are inevitably closer to Christmas, the end of the year approaches. Listen, I know that a lot of people are really pressured in November – it’s not only getting gifts for all the people that we know for Christmas, it’s trying to pull all the loose ends together and check as many this year’s resolutions as possible, just to have peaceful Christmas. So stressful. That’s why this year I will try to be a bit more mindful about it all as I hold my mental health as a priority. Lately.
So, starting up, let’s get a bit of October Roundup.
Last month, about that time in the month, I have kicked up a fuss about being behind on self-care and wanting to get back on track. Well, that backfired. Initially, it went okay, but then I started procrastinating. And it all went to shit. Procrastination is a real problem for me and there’s no permanent solution for it for now, for me. There are certain things that help me get back on track, but if I’m not consistent with them, well, it just won’t work. Self-care is something we should build all of our lives. It’s not something that you start doing after you achieve success, it’s your foundation to build your personal success. That’s why I need to stop being a baby (or start being a baby?) and start taking care of myself. Period.
BOOK THAT INSPIRED ME
Last month, I have read new Russel Brand book, which is ultimately a person whom I agree with in almost everything he says. I truly recommend his youtube channel you can find here if you want some trews (true news!) in your life. That’s why I decided to pick up his Addiction Recovery book. And before you even ask, no it’s not only about heavy stuff like being addicted to drugs or alcohol. We can get addicted to absolutely everything in our lives, from gossip through shopping to pornography or technology. And ultimately, it creates a large amount of suffering in your life – one way or another. This is this kind of cryptic butterfly effect stuff, that really resonates with me. If you are interested to get inspired and get real about your issues, you can pick up this book on Amazon, which I did too here:
I’m terrible about myself. Like, usually I am the person who sees this special thing in all of the people I meet. I’m the supportive one. I’m getting out there and can’t stand if someone doesn’t believe in themselves. Yet, I am the hypocrite I guess, because with all those people I believe in (which is ultimately everyone in the world) I don’t believe in myself. Yup, I can support people all day long, invest myself emotionally and drain myself mentally for others, yet I can’t respect my own worth enough to stop for a minute and start charging for it. As a life coach. So, yeah, this is another issue I want to improve on. I don’t know which chakra is this, but I need to remove this blockage. Somehow.
I have realized recently, mostly, because of Pinterest, I have binge addiction. I binge. On Youtube videos, Netflix shows, snacks, films, Disney movies (the last one is not too bad as it always motivates me to be a better person). Also, I spend so much time in front of the screen. And with my personality type INFJ, it’s really overwhelming for me to be stimulated by too many sensory experiences. And maybe that’s why I’m tired all the time. Which would actually make sense as well why meditation isn’t my favorite thing to do as I’m really future orientated. Anyway, it comes to technology – I just want to disconnect every once in a while and don’t be so glued to a screen and really have some downtime.
IT’S OFFICIAL: I SUCK AT SOCIAL MEDIA
It’s not a surprise. For how long I’ve been working on this blog, I don’t see much traffic. Mainly, because I truly suck at social media. I procrastinate, I don’t post for days, even weeks or maybe sometimes months. I don’t even get better at it because I’m not consistent enough. And when consistency is the key, the best thing to do is to cultivate a habit. It might be silly for you, but every online entrepreneur knows what I’m talking about. Therefore I know now, I need to shift my focus from procrastinating to learning more about social media. Which is not my favorite thing to do.
AS ALWAYS – TOTALLY FREE PRINTABLE NOVEMBER 2017 CALENDAR AND PLANNER
Also, I recommend you to download and print out my habit tracker, I know I will be definitely filling it in.
HABITS I’M TRACKING IN NOVEMBER
As an inspiration, this is what I will be filling it in:
YOGA/EXERCISE – I used to feel so much better when I was doing yoga religiously, every single day. I really would like to come back to it this November. Especially when it gets colder, some extra movement inside my flat or in the studio is always a good idea. Plus, it really is helpful for me as it helps me stay grounded and mindful in everyday life.
MEDITATION – As I written in my Little Guide to Meditation post, I highlighted every single benefit I get from meditating every day. I would love to keep meditating every day and I think if you are not familiar with meditation, you should definitely set yourself a challenge for this November to get a bit of the quiet, mindful time this month. As little as 10-15 minutes daily will do!
J + A + V – What does that mean? It’s easy J = journaling, A = affirmations and V = visualisation. It’s another daily practice that helps me to stay connected. I journal as an outlet for my feelings and to look clearer at my anxious thoughts. It makes me understand better which thoughts are just excuses and which ones are actual real concerns. I usually say choose my affirmation in the morning and then set my alarms to remind me about it every 2-3 hours. Visualisation, I usually do this little one at the very end of the day, just as I fall asleep. I find it has much better influence over my subconsciousness as I’m a bit drowsy – you are always more prone to suggestion when you are drowsy.
AT LEAST 2 HRS DAILY WITHOUT ANY SCREENS – As I mentioned – I developed a bit of tech addiction. I’m trying to get off screens for 2hrs every single day. And yes, that means not checking my phone, not watching tv, not surfing the web, nothing. Just focusing on chores or my own self. It will be hard, but I’m determined.
READING – Do I even have to comment on this one? Everyone should read something inspirational sometimes. If you are stuck in the rut and can’t go traveling or don’t like traveling – pick up a book. And read it.
30 DAY LEARNING CHALLENGE – I set myself a 30-day learning challenge, which is essentially just a Udemy coursework. This month, I will focus on learning all about SEO and social media, to reach more people with this blog. But I do recommend setting yourself a learning challenge like that – whether it is a foreign language you always wanted to learn, learning how to make a paella or learning to knit. Just spend a half an hour or an hour every single day for a month just learning about whatever it is. You probably won’t master it in that time, but you will get so much better. Consistency + Learning new things = Success!
LISTING ON EBAY – It doesn’t have to be a goal for you, but it is for me as it’s my source of income. I will list 150 items on eBay this month, so I really need to focus on sourcing and listing every single day.
WAKING UP BEFORE 6.30 – I have been so lazy with this lately. I always used to wake up quite early, but lately, all I would do is sleeping. Really need to feel more energized – even if it means going vegan or taking some supplements.
SPEND AT LEAST 15 MINUTES OUTSIDE (RECREATIONALLY) – Not when traveling somewhere! Go for an intentional walk for at least 15 minutes. Or just sit outside. Just reconnect with fresh air for that moment daily.
NICE THING FOR OTHER PERSON – Another one on my list. This month, I want to focus on doing something nice for someone else every single day. I consider myself a thoughtful person, normally, but I want to be more intentional about it. Good tool for this one is my Cultivate Kindness Printable tracker you can check out here.
So, yeah, my goals should be pretty evident looking at my habits tracker options. As you know I believe in the concept that our everyday habits, essential create our lives. It’s not the monthly goals, that we check, although goals are handy for measuring our successes and achievements. It’s those habits. The stuff that we are doing for so long every single day, that we don’t even have to think about it.
So, what’re the November goals?
LIST FURTHER 150 ITEMS ON EBAY – I have smashed my last month’s goal of listing 130 items, now I want to get to 150. Initially, I wanted to raise the bar to 200, but as winter approaches, there’s less and less good stuff to get on car boot sales, so I probably won’t source as much. I still wanted it to be a little bit harder, so I settled on 150.
FOCUS ON OTHERS – As you have probably read in my habit setting section, I want this to be my main focus for this month. Being kind to others, cultivating cooperation and oneness. I just want to reconnect with people that aren’t in my life anymore and focus on people that are as well. As an introvert, I really struggle to keep up with people and as INFJ personality I get overwhelmed meeting people up, but without socializing I get depressed. I know, it’s ridiculous – I struggle with that since I was born!
REMEMBER ABOUT EVERYDAY SELF CARE – As much as focusing on others is very important for me, I think I shouldn’t forget about self-care. This month I want to learn more about chakras and how to properly take care of the flow of energy in my own body.
CONTROL YOUR TECHNOLOGY ADDICTION – This just speaks volumes in itself. I need to wind down with screen usage and technology usage next month.
SPEND ONE HOUR EVERYDAY LEARNING ABOUT SEO AND SOCIAL MEDIA – This is definitely something I really need to focus on if I want to help as many people as possible sharing the message I do with this blog.
KEEP SNACKS OUT OF REACH – I have failed to do it last month, so as it goes – I need to try harder next month. Especially with all those seasonal treats everywhere.
WORK OUT AND SHARE MEAL PLAN ROUTINE – From the more organizational side, I have felt the need to switch up my routines, so as I will give them a little makeover I really want to share it with you. First one to go is meal planning! Look out for a post all about it!
RECONSTRUCT THE MORNING/EVENING ROUTINE – As I mentioned above – that’s the second of the routines I want to reconstruct and then share on this blog.
That’s all for my ramblings, wish me luck, you know I wish you well whoever you are and root for anything you have planned for next month especially if it is positive and beneficial to yourself or anyone else.
Plus, tell me all about your routines and plans for November. What are you up to in November? How’s your resolution list looking? Tell me all about in the comments.
