I just love Autumn. I know, I know, sometimes It’s rainy and gloomy, there’s not so much sunshine and it can get muddy. I love all of that, actually. It’s my favourite season along with spring. I mean – Halloween, beautiful colourful leaves, cozy sweaters and warm coffees – that’s what Autumn is to me. A permission to be cozy. Here are some of my picks to enhance your Autumn even more.
Sure, it’s not about material things. But those material things (if not in the overwhelming amounts) can enhance your day to day experience. For me, Fall is also a new beginning and a new start – ever since school. And as with the new beginning goes, I really want to start from the right foot, with the bang and just draw a thick line between past and now, without actually blocking myself on things that I have already learned.
– FRAGRANCE –
Cinnamon Pumpkin by Bath & Body Works
Ugh, another Bath&Body Works one! So sorry, but I can’t lie – I love me some B&BW! But those mists are just such a great idea to get yourself in a mood. I especially like this one, because It’s sweet, but still pleasant and one bottle lasts me literally 2 years as I bought it last year and didn’t even used half of it. They smell so good, though!
– LIPSTICK –
NYX Lingerie Matte Liquid Lipstick in Corset
Last year in my autumn makeup round up I have included Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie, which as name suggest is a berry colour shiny lipstick. I couldn’t be any further on the spectrum from it this Fall as I picked up darker cool toned nude in matte finish. Now, it’s nothing that special, I know, but most of the time I wear a neutral pink and I’m not that comfortable wearing brown lipstick. That’s why, this Autumn I’m pushing myself out of the comfort zone (at least a little bit) and trying this one out!

– DARKER EYEBROW –
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in 4
Now, even though my hair isn’t jet black, it’s pretty dark, deep brown. Because of how pale I am normally, I’m always scared to go full out on my eyebrows and really match them to my hair colour. I’m scared it will make me look ghastly. But like I said – I’m trying new things this Fall, so I have decided to give it a whirl and purchased darker colour brow product. As an impulse buy, while I was ‘enjoying’ wax and tint in my local Benefit Brow Bar, I picked up this one. Apparently, that is the right-right colour for me. Hm, it definitely will take some time getting used to, but let’s hope for the best.
– CANDLE –
Leaves by Bath&Body Works
This is my favourite Fall candle in the world! It just smells like Autumn to me. I need to order another one as a matter of fact, because I’ve got only half left from last year (I bought 3!) .They are quite hard to get in England, there’s always eBay to keep you topped up. You could try any limited edition that are available from for example Yankee Candle, it’s just important it’s a typical smell you will associate with Autumn. Trust me, it’s just so much more special this way. At least for me. Let me know if you’re a candle lover just like me in the comments.
– WARM SOUP –
Butternut Squash with Croutons or Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
I can’t even imagine an Autumn without butternut squash soup. It’s true! There’s just no other food that screams ‘FALL!’ to me just like this dish. I really like to roast some pumpkin seeds in the oven and sprinkle them on top as well, for a nice touch. And don’t forget to sprinkle it with the nutmeg and add a bit of sage if you like – it really enhances the flavour!
– A HOT DRINK –
Peanut Butter Cup Latte
Forget sugary, overrated, overpriced Starbucks PSL! Make your own Peanut Butter Cup Latte which is delicious and I admit – sugary too, but you’ve got a bit more control over it, haha. Check out this video by lovely Dzung from HoneySuckle to pick one of 3 equally delicious Fall Drink Recipes. Yum! Check out her channel while you’re at it – I just love love love her videos.
– FAVOURITE SWEATER –
Rusty Knit by H&M
I purchased this last year, but I’m sure they will be around this year as well, as H&M is known for their seasonal basics. I love everything about that sweater – it’s oversized, not too long, doesn’t look too boxy, its’ quite a chunky knit, washes well and the colour is just perfect for me. As a matter of fact I think it will look good on majority. I think having a favourite sweater is such an important thing for me during Autumn. It sounds so funny and detached from real life problems, but I think everything is for people and we should enjoy all the aspects of life this world has to offer. It’s not about punishing yourself – it’s about bettering yourself.
– BOOK TO KEEP YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT –
The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena
To be honest, I have already read this book, but I thought it’s such a great book to recommend in this post. It has just the right amount of tension and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. I have read it in one day! It just devoured me! The twists! The turns! I don’t want to spoil anything so I will leave it to you to draw your own conclusion out of the ending, but never mind if ending is good or not, the whole reading experience of this book is so entertaining and I think perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon, to read wrapped in the blanket with an accompanying hot cup of tea.
– GOOD MYSTERY MOVIE –
My Cousin Rachel
As I’m (and I’m sure you too) waiting for a new season of Stranger Things, I kind of have to find a way to distract myself with something else. That’s why I picked something that caught my attention lately. Now, I know, the rating on this one is pretty… shit. But! Give it a change. I found it really entertaining, actually, and it did kept me guessing – is she this, or something else? You gotta see it, really, to make your own opinion. I really enjoyed it and it was a great movie, at least for me.
So, how did you liked my Autumn Picks? Do you make an effort to make your Fall special as well? If yes, let me know your ideas and if you choose not to – also tell me why! Let me know in the comments!
