It’s this time again! Today, instead of ‘Hello August’ I have something different – my checklist of super fresh, super fun ideas for the month of August! Okay, not everything is fun, but they are really good ideas – I promise. So, if you are suffering from a shortage of ideas look no further. And – for you to actually do it – I designed few printables that will help you get your sh… iz together and make your life in August a little bit easier.
Anyways, I never was good at intros so, I’m just going to shut up and let you get on with the rest of the post.
MAKE HOMEMADE ICE TEA
Because… why not? It’s super easy, cheap and you can actually control the amount of sugar that goes into it. Which is helpful. Do you know how much sugar goes into the store-bought one? Don’t check it. Just make your own. And you can make it any flavor you want! I personally made this one from Miss Thrifty’s blog and I really liked it, so you could try it too.
SCRUB YOUR LIFE AWAY WITH THIS DIY
I was struggling this summer with showing off my legs. I have nice legs, but the skin on them… that’s different story. I struggle with lots of irritation and extremely dry skin. Plus the ingrown hairs are my personal hell. And I’m not going to lie – I didn’t thought that some silly tip on Tumblr will literally change my body skin care game forever. I’m forever grateful whoever came up with this tip, so if you want to change your dry, crusty old scales into baby soft beautiful, smooth, goddess-like skin – do that at least once a month! Try this August, haha. You can check it out here.
August is actually one of the best months to go stargazing because the number of shooting stars is more significant than any other months. I don’t know about you, but I love sometimes wishing on a star, just like I used to when I was much, much younger. So, yeah. Do that. Just try it. You don’t have to do it out loud if you feel silly.
DO A HEALTH CHECK UP
Especially if you are still at school or uni, August is such a great time to just do a regular health check up: dentist, general health, maybe blood test, maybe even mental health inventory. I like to do it yearly, so, if you do too, maybe make it August this year. It’s important. Bite the bullet.
REACH FOR A DIFFERENT BOOK
I tend to reach for the same books all the time – either it’s a murder mystery novel or self-development book, but this month, I promise myself I will pick a different one. Maybe a horror novel? We’ll see. So, similarly – if what you usually read is self-development books, reach for a novel, but if what you are usually reading novels, get yourself a self-help book! I hope that’s clear but if you lack inspiration to what kind of book to get check out this post I have written about all the books that changed my life.
GO FOR A WALK THROUGH THE FOREST
Creepy? For some, maybe. I personally like the atmosphere of the quiet forest. Nothing else to do but walking, breathing in the fresh air and thinking. Or not thinking, just walking. It’s a form of meditation too! I always find it very therapeutic reconnecting with nature. I mean we are actually built to be outside as much as we can.
TRY MINDFUL EATING
Any month is perfect to try this one. As a matter of fact, we should do it all year round. All of us. I mean, I haven’t been trying that out for long, but I’m already losing weight and feeling better – because I eat better quality things. If you are about to try any diet, try this first. I went in depth on this subject in this post all about Mindful Eating.
LEARN SOMETHING NEW
If I would be the one you will ask for the advice with this one, I would say – new skill! Like… hand lettering? Or… drawing? Or maybe arm wrestling? I don’t know, you would just have to take any opportunity that comes your way, as that’s the only way to stretch time. Ha!
Actually, no, it’s not a joke, that does actually stretch our idea of time. So, get on it, while you still have time!
Sorry, went a bit morbid there.
CELEBRATE FADING SUMMER
I am a fan of celebrating life in general. Why worry? Why overwork yourself? Why compromise on what you love and do something that you don’t like or despise. I mean, sure, there are lots of different circumstances, but I think you better die trying to improve it than just getting used to how it is. That’s why celebrate the summer, go to the beach, have a walk in the sunshine, even enjoy summer dress in hot, crowded city, whatever that means to you. Get yourself this nice sun hat and go! Go out for a dinner, wear the crap out of that dress you like! Celebrate little moments like there’s no tomorrow. You are welcome.
And now, for number 10… I leave it for you to fill in! Leave a comment with your idea for August to add to my list!
For the fun portion of this post – the promised printables. It’s more like Plan With Me type of thing, as these exact pages I created in my BuJo. So literally – if you use it this month – we are going to be like planner twins. How cool is that?
So, the first dish that we will consume is the actual calendar.
AUGUST PRINTABLE CALENDAR
Next on the list, habit tracker! Fill it in with all the habits that you want and get cracking with it!
AUGUST HABIT TRACKER
And the last part of it all – set of printables – color matching weekly spread, gratitude log, self-care planner and weekly goal table.
How to fill it (that’s only a guideline, do as you please with it, really):
Weekly spread – fill it with your daily to-do!
Gratitude log – take time daily to fill it in with at least one thing you are grateful for that day!
Self Care Planner – fill each box with your self-care idea for that particular day. Don’t miss a day! Self-care is really important for mental health. Not long ago, I have created little self-love practice checklist you can download here if you are short of ideas.
Weekly Goal table – it has 4 sections: goals – as the name suggests, fill it in with any actions that bring you closer to achieving your personal or work goals; tasks – for all the random stuff you need to do at some point – write it down before you forget; meals – for meal ideas for this week; on the horizon – for all the upcoming stuff, that you have to remember about.
TAKE AN ACTION – SET OF PLANNING PRINTABLES
That’s all! Enjoy your printables, guys, and make sure you leave me some feedback in the comment section!
Have a great one!
