I enjoy autumn. I just do. I like the atmosphere, a little of the rain, even the cold is not so bad if you can squish your face between your scarf and fluffy hat (if you choose to wear one! Or both…?). I like the colours and the smell of the crisp air.
But! Not to get off topic, I didn’t start writing today with an intention of writing a haiku to autumn, haha. I’m only here to tell you guys about changes in my makeup this season.
Cheeks: Sleek blusher in Rose Gold
This truly is a rosy blusher with finely milled golden specks in it. It is a very pigmented product so you must be very careful about the way you apply it. Although if very lightly flushed on the cheeks it gives a beautiful finish, very comparable with MAC blushes – but with a little bit of sparkle. If you are into matte blushers – it’s not for you, but if you are ready to add a little bit of sparkle to your life – you could start with this blusher!
Face duo: L’Oréal Infallible Matte + Benefit Flawless compact powder
My skin is very problematic – I have very dry but very oily skin around my nose. It is hard to describe and I’m giving my best to stay hydrated and careful with what I eat but obviously, it’s not 100% fool proof and I’m still yet to find my holy grail skincare regimen. Regardless of a state of my skin L’Oréal Infallible matte foundation is the only liquid powder that ticks two boxes for me – it’s matte and works on my skin. I have such a problem with matte foundations. I find them unbearable and drying, but this one (applied with beauty blender) is amazing. If I have worse (dryer) day with my skin and I still want a bit of matte finish to my makeup, I just mix it with my favourite moisturizing foundation (Rimmel Lasting Finish).
If we’d to talk about Benefit Flawless compact powder – hands down it is the only powder that works on my nose area, sets the makeup like nothing else for me, doesn’t make my skin look dry or anything. I just love it. It’s my ultimate favourite.
Eyes: Maybelline Master Drama the Nudes eye pencil in
It’s just so bronzy! And creamy! I absolutely love it, but I have annoying feeling that they have been discontinued as I haven’t seen them in my local Superdrug ever since. But if you can lay your hands on it I recommend you do that. Like I said it’s just so creamy, so it’s a perfect base shade for more pigmented or darker brown chocolatey eyeshadow or just smudged over outer corner of the eye.
Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz
This is a dilemma product for me – it took a long time for me to get used to, sometimes I still end up with scarier brows that I would like to, but I was a total eyebrow newbie until last year, so I’m relatively new to beating my eyebrows up. But! It’s about only product that matches the shade of my hair completely! And – more I use it, more I like it. If you have brown hair that has cooler undertones to it go for shade Medium Brown.
Revlon Butter Lipstick in Red Velvet
Great moisturizing finish, beautiful colour. That’s really all I have to say about this.
So, did your daily makeup product changed with the season as well? Or are you already preparing for the festive season?
Let me know what you think,
See you next week x
