I am usually full of ideas, but I found it really hard to keep up with myself and follow up with actions. So I thought I share a list of what’s worth doing in September. I will also challenge myself to do all of those things as well. You can see the rest of my little September challenges here! I will try to document it all on Instagram so if you are not following me yet you could do it here if you wish so!
Make use of the weather: go for a nice walk!
There is nothing more relaxing than a walk in a nice mild weather. Well, maybe a nice session of yoga or half an hour in the hot tub but a walk will do I think. It’s good for you!
Try on another kind of makeup – if dramatic cat eye is your BFF, try switching from black eyeliner to brown one!
I used to love love love a nice eyeliner flick – I even used to do it on a daily basis! But now, that I’m a bit older I prefer a soft nude eyeshadow look with a little pop or just going with no-makeup makeup. That’s why for me something new is going to be… adding a bit of a bronzer! I never used to do that at all, but recently I got some makeup done at the benefit counter and I discovered Hoola, which looks amazing even on a pale girl like me! I mean – I find the time now the most appropriate to use it as it’s the end of the summer and beginning of autumn so everybody (besides me) has a leftover bronzed glow going on.
Try no electricity evening – that means no phones as well!
As I mentioned in my September goals post I want to minimise my screen time. I came up with an idea for no electricity evening, which would be normally – coming back from work, sorting out leftover errands or stuff that we have to do on a computer or a phone and when we are done, we would just turn off our phones, turn off tv and all the lights, light bunch of candles, order a takeaway or heat up some leftovers – on the hob! – and then just sitting together talking about our day or playing a board game or a card game and just get creative without the electricity! You should try it sometime – it can be very relaxing.
Get new home decor – fall themed.
Even though our flat is not perfectly done or as I wanted it to be I still love it. And this autumn I want to show it some love by buying or making a bunch of decorations. I love this season so much I kind of want to express it this way.
Try meditation – to the sound of the rain.
It’s September. And in England, it usually means the start of a rain season. But you could turn it around. If it’s raining outside and you can’t go for a walk or don’t really feel like melting your makeup or drenching your clothes on the night out, why don’t you download/find on YouTube some meditation practice video? Just try meditating for 10-20 minutes daily and see if it’s so relaxing as lots of people promise.
Best time to choose/buy your favourite cosy sweater.
I love cosy sweaters. I feel like for me every autumn and every winter has to have a special one. That’s why I’m on the hunt for the softest, cutest, fuzziest, warmest and best sweater for this Autumn! And all that to curl up on the sofa with a book and cup of hot chocolate and just don’t move for like an hour.
Start a journal!
When it’s raining it seems like a good time to do something that doesn’t require to go outside but still is creative. That’s why I think September is a perfect time to start a journal. Write anything in it! All the thoughts and stuff to do that’s bugging you inside and you don’t want to forget about it. Just cleanse your mind. It’s good for you!
Bake something new.
Get the baking book out. Open it on a random page. Bake it. Or open any recipe website or app and just do the first one you see. If it’s really hard – so what – I’m sure it’s going to be worth it!
Try minimalist challenge!
It’s a really cool challenge that basically is just about removing clutter from your house while you are tidying. The rules say that you must remove the number of things equivalent to the number of a day in the month. For example on 1st of September, you remove 1 thing, on 2nd, you remove 2 things etc.
It’s chicken month!
It’s a chicken month so eat a lot of chicken! Unless you are vegetarian or vegan. But if you are not, try few new chicken recipes – they are easy and simple.
